Predictions

Andy: The temptation to flip on Tai now that he trusts them and has an idol and an advantage to get rid of will be high. But doing so could potentially flip the advantage back to Julia, whom Cydney and Aubry have been suspicious about since she ate Chinese food. Best to get rid of the threat that didn’t vote with you last week than the one who did.

John: This is really just process of elimination. None of the other candidates- Joe, Jason, Aubry, Cydney, or Tai- seem very likely. So Julia it is.

Emma: Aubry has spent the past couple of tribals thinking about voting out Julia. With Jason’s power neutered, I think the resurging alliance tables the bounty hunter for a while and cuts the best teenager to play the game.

Mark: I tried to create an elaborate fiction that involved Tai losing all of his advantages and blindsiding Jason, but I think it’ll be the most obvious choice: Julia. Her traitor story has been building for weeks, she got her loved one scene (since the actual loved ones won’t show up for a while), and if Tai and Aubry want to idol someone out, she’s probably the best target. Plus, it’ll keep Michelle open as a number, and she can then survive long enough to emerge victorious at the final immunity challenge: a Nathan’s hot dog eating competition.

Matt: Julia goes home. They have been building to this for a few episodes but Aubry and Cydney clearly don’t trust her, she wasn’t in on the plan last night, and there is going to be the thought that she is more dangerous than Jason who is marginalized.

I’m riding that all-Michele ticket as long as I can!

    • Other Scott

I was about to comment: person who voted Michelle as week 9 MVP, your troll game is strong.

    • DrVanNostrand

      Me too!

      • gouis

        Ride or die.

    • Kemper Boyd

I am very annoyed by all the people who voted for Aubry as the winner, I thought we had a deal!

      • Diego Armando

We have an actual candidate now.

        • Kemper Boyd

I don’t care. We had a trolling Andy agreement.

      • Other Scott

I agreed to nothing! I have an overriding deal with my integrity to never vote for Michele as the winner in any point in the season,

        • Kemper Boyd

          Booooooooo

  • Other Scott

Julia almost seems like too much of an obvious boot at this point. I’m going to go off the map and pick Tai, because he’s a super dangerous player that the majority no longer really needs, plus he’d probably feel secure enough to not play his idol or advantage.

    • That’s my dark horse.

      • Saturday Night Palsy

        Never gonna happen.

      • Other Scott

Additionally, if he goes we get fulfillment of the setup on will they or won’t they kill Mark.

      • sharculese

I would say black horse, but I don’t know if anyone besides Ms. Sweaterfan would get the reference.

    • Kemper Boyd

Is it not more in Aubry, Joe and Cydney’s interest to use the advantage now, just to get rid of it and be on the right side than blindside Tai?

    • tocantins

Exactly, I feel reluctant to say that Julia will be voted out because it is just obvious and easy at this point, and the edit wouldn’t want to throw it on our face like that. Besides, the players this season have often chosen the non-obvious (and sometime arguably the non-good) vote. I think that maybe Debbie will go out. Perhaps she discovers that they wanted to vote her out, or try a big move by allying with Julia and Scot, who everyone hates and would allow her to win, but is surprised by Tai’s extra vote.

      • Other Scott

I feel 100% confident that Debbie will be in Ponderosa after the next episode.

  • Max_Jets

This could end up being my new favorite season, so I have come up with a new nightmare scenario to lower my expectations:
Julia gets the majority to blindside Tai. Great episode, should set up for a good final couple of episodes. Then Joe is medically evacuated. Michele flips to Julia and Jason (her big move). Cydney and Aubry are voted out. Jason wins Final Immunity and votes out Julia, Michele wins a final 2.

    • andythesaint

      The darkest timeline.

      • Assistant Dragon Slayer

I can get dark too, WTF!!!

Julia goes this week, then Cyd and Michele, because Aubry and Tai team up and between the idol and the double vote all attempts to get them out fail, and they’re herding Joe and Jason to the end. Then in the finale, Aubry backstabs Tai but hates herself for doing so. Weakened by self-loathing, Aubry develops dysentery, and she’s medevaced just hours before the Oregon Trail prophesy is fulfilled. The final immunity challenge is canceled and we get a half-hour Fallen Comrades segment to stretch the finale to two hours. Meanwhile, stripped of his idol and all his power in the game, Jason spends the last 12 days of the game buttering everybody up. As a result, the jury praises him for his strong social game. Jason wins Survivor playing the Natalie White game.

        • Other Scott

I think a Joe win might be a worse finish than a Jason win for me. At least with Jason there’s a bit of character there for an interesting winner. Joe would just leave me going “What???”

This proposed ending would be so crazy I couldn’t help but like it.

          • Kemper Boyd

Agreed. Kyle was at least playing. I’d have wanted a Russell win over Mick if that had been the final 2, unfortunately he got a final 3 and had Natalie White with him.

    • Purplerockmatt

do i upvote something that so feeds into my darkest nightmares?

    • Roswulf

If you want to ponder the worst of all possible worlds, I’d say Aubrey gets medevaced at six instead of Joe, and then things procede as you have laid out..

      • andythesaint

Aubry getting medevaced would be the worst, but it makes it harder to explain Joe not getting dragged to the end.

        • Roswulf

Perhaps. I think Joe has some scariness as the last loyal member of the alliance filling the jury, and could easily see him being bumped at Final 4 if Julia has immunity.

      • Max_Jets

That would indeed be much worse, and then I would also have to be annoyed with the editors for building her up so much.

  • Now we can give Aubry the MVP! My god, she had a solid week which was highlighted by her fantastic pitch to Tai (one of the best moves of the modern age).

  • Mike Hirsch

I feel like it’s Obvious Boot Julia (OBJ), until she wins immunity so they shift to Obvious Backup Boot Jason (OBBJ). But, Jason, being as sneaky as he is, DOESN’T GO to Tribal, but rather runs off and hides somewhere where production can’t find him. Confused and uncertain, the rest of the tribe starts discussing who they should vote for. Aubry panics and tries to vote out Debbie again. Suddenly, Michele sees her chance: she reminds everyone that even though he isn’t there, they can STILL vote for Jason. Success! Crisis averted! Everyone praises Michele for staying cool, calm and collected under duress. Except for Joe, because he’s pissed off at something. Thus begins Michele’s inevitable march to victory, on the back of this one bright shining moment. OVM has arrived.

(But really, Julia should go home.)

  • sharculese

So I only just noticed the tail on the middle question mark. Nice touch.

    • Sylvisual

      Thank you! 🙂

  • Side Character

If I were to choose, I’d probably want Jason gone next. Have Joe medevac’d because that seems like the only way he can go out (unless he decides to actually do something which, I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen nor do I expect to see happen). Then everyone else can duke it out and I would be fine with any of the other 5 left winning (even if Michele wins by doing nothing).

    • andythesaint

I’d say that if the first two things happen, then it would be impossible for the last thing to happen.

      • Roswulf

I can unfortunately see this Jury giving it to Michele over Cydney in a Final 2. Jason and Scot are still bitter over Cydney’s betrayal, and Tai/Julia/Nick vote on the basis of old relationships with Michele from Beauty. Cydney gets all four brains votes, but loses 5-4. Or Joe is medevacd so aggressively that he has to drop from the jury, Cydney gets one of Nick and Tai, and we finally see the Final Tribal tiebreaker.

I do think Cydney would be the favorite, but I don’t think it’s a lock, because I don’t think Cydney has strong relationships with anyone other than Aubrey and the viewers.
