Survivor Millennials vs Gen X Week 7 Predictions and Polls

Will I remember to shut the polls down before this week’s episode starts? The answer to that question might be harder to figure than the boots this week. (For the record, I have logs for when votes come in and thus delete the ones that come in later. So no points for readers this week).

Andy: This week seems incredibly predictable, which either means it won’t be, or that this needs to be the last week with this configuration of tribes. Taylor is a dead man walking if he doesn’t win immunity. Michelle has basically no outs other than immunity. Only Ikabula provides minor intrigue of which oldster would get the boot. I say they go with Bret as the bigger threat, since we’re getting to be closer to the time when that matters. And he’s not all that big a threat either.

John: If the purples go to tribal, CBS won’t be able to flash a #blindside hashtag at us, because it’s Taylor. If the greens go to tribal (and they won’t), it’s Bret– only because Michaela seems weirdly intent on keeping Millennials around. And if orange goes to tribal, say goodbye to Michelle.

Matt: Three boots: Michelle, Taylor, and I don’t know, lets say Sunday. And fuck reasons, my reason why is I have pneumonia.

Mark: I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is a double-boot episode. This cast is still way too big for halfway through the season, So without further ado, here’s what I think…
Vanua: Sticking with last week’s Michelle prediction. Especially if David reveals his idol, that’s too big a chance to take.
Takali: It has to be Taylor. Adam, Ken, and Jessica aren’t that stupid, and dude bro could lead a merge rebellion if left alone to his own devices.
Ikabula: Michaela will prove to be the Millennial who can hold a majority, and Bret will be let go, since he has the closest ties to the remaining Gen-Xers.

Emma: Vanua: Now that we’ve seen David bond further with Zeke by telling him about the idol, coupled with Zeke seeing his pal Adam flip on Figgy and Taylor, I just don’t see how Michelle gets out of this one.

Takali: Let’s not beat around the bush. It’s Taylor. We all know it would be Taylor. Here’s hoping Takali loses!

Ikabula: Earlier in the swap, Sunday seemed like the clear choice, but now that a couple of tribal councils have passed, the Millennials may prefer to target someone deemed as a bit more of a threat. Which means adios to Purple Bret the Second.

I have to agree to these non-Matt boring predictions. Honestly the only thing I can see causing a non-obvious vote is if it is a double (or maybe triple) vote out and they give out individual immunity.

    • HBO CEO of Tits

I think a consolidation swap to 2 tribes 7 on 7 could shake up the boots too. A twist like that could motivate David to definitely be trying harder to pull Zeke in.

  • Black Dynamite

Boring week for picks. There seems to be a consensus across the board with Taylor, Michelle and a Gen X player for Green. I went that route with my picks for the reasons stated above. So instead of rehashing explanations, I thought I would use this space to reveal my dream final 7 for this season. I don’t think this will be the exact 7 but it would be my best case scenario.

    Final 7 (in alphabetical order)
    1. Adam
    2. David
    3. Hannah
    4. Jessica
    5. Ken
    6. Michaela
    7. Zeke

    • Roswulf

      I’m with you on Adam/David/Ken/Michaela/Zeke.

I’d probably bump Jessica and Hannah for Michelle and Jay. Jessica had her episode of extreme dopiness, and Hannah just grates on me.

And Chris isn’t entirely uninteresting either. And I’m still rooting for Will for ironic fantasy reasons.

This season has a deep bench of reasonably interesting people- which obviously means we’re headed towards a Taylor/Brett/Sunday final!

    • Purplerockmatt

I would largely agree except I am pretty damn sure Jay will be in there. Not sure who I would bump… (but I think its Zeke)

      • Black Dynamite

Jay has impressed me since the swap. I think he’s in a really good position in the game and I would bet highly that he will be there. There are just 7 people I want there more.

  • andythesaint

Other than Taylor, Michelle, Bret, and Sunday, who is the most plausible other option to go home (barring evac)?

    • andythesaint

My vote is Chris. Maybe David is pulling Zeke to his side to make a move on Chris and set up a Millennials/Gen X coalition post-merge that would favor him.

      • EmAndScoutInBK

I actually think there’s a decent argument for Chris going home. Chris doesn’t have the strong bonds that David has (thanks to Ken’s work with Adam), and while he bonded with Zeke, Zeke did make that comment about the GenXers being idiots to give up the majority. He might’ve preferred to vote out David initially, but knowing that David has an idol and, presumably, bonding with David, he may favor voting out Chris and shoring up an alliance as Andy suggested. I imagine it would look something like Ken/Jessica/Adam/Zeke/David/Hannah and, possibly, Michelle, if he brings her in on this vote (and there’s no Figgy in the picture anymore). I would hope Michaela would also figure in it, but I don’t know if she actually would.

      • Sadie

I think that is not a bad call. Part of the Chris-David dynamic is Chris underestimating David, being wrong about what he is up to, thinking he’s on his side and being wrong, giving him a second chance. He’s looking good to get screwed one last time. (Besides all the strangle-talk, he did tell David to make sure his torch was snuffed if he betrayed him again…)

      • prettyboyprobst

I thought there might be a case for Zeke, if David wants Chris to himself after gettting targeted and playing an idol, but the preview-scene with David and Zeke pretty much nixed that theory. The scene itself also makes me think that Vanua has to go to tribal, how would that conversation have occured otherwise?

After reading here, I admit that Chris isn’t as secure as I thought, even though that tribe would be toast if there was another challenge before a swap or merge. It would also fit with the Summit foreshadowing.
To sum it up: 75& Michelle, 10% Chris, 10% Taylor, 4% Bret or Sunday, 1% a swap before trbal

Btw, I think this is the third week this season where I couldn’t vote because you shut down the polls before the episode even began.

        • prettyboyprobst

And that’s what a really bad prediction looks like.
I did regret not leaving 5% to allow for someone else almost immediately though, even before the base of my reasoning was swept by that scene occuring so early.

        • andythesaint

I shut down last week’s polls yesterday.

    • Mike Hirsch

I’d say Chris as well, for similar reasons as to why Ikabula would target Bret. Only it would make more sense here, as Chris is more of a challenge threat.
Distant outside chance that Michaela would want to break up the Jay/Will alliance and sends Will home, but it seems a bit early for that. Also, there’s someone named Will playing this season?

    • HBO CEO of Tits

I actually think it is David. If David reveals his idol to Chris or Zeke, They may choose to target him, just when David is thinking he is shoring up numbers to turn on either Chris or Michelle, feeling safe, they all vote for him instead, with Michelle impeccably showing some false-flag scrambling.

      • andythesaint

Here’s my ranking of most likely boots:
        1. Taylor
        2. Michelle
        3. Bret
        4. Sunday
        5. Chris
        6. David (for the reasons you list)
        7. Hannah (because they may just tire of dealing with her).

That’s the list. I can’t see a reason anyone else would go this week (other than evac).

        • Other Scott

I could see a scenario in which Ken and Jessica decide to blindside Adam because of his threat level compared to Taylor’s threat level.

It would be a bad move, but it is plausible.

          • andythesaint

I can see a scenario where two people in their situation would do that to someone in his, but not these two people with that person.

        • Roswulf

The only reason I might add is if they breeze through two tribal rounds (because cutting Taylor is dull TV) and Takali has to go to tribal twice. So I’d put Jessica and Ken at 8 and 9.

But that’s a vanishingly small chance

        • Diego Armando

I’d suggest getting used to Hannah. She is going to be around for a while, since she has a giant sign on her saying “GOAT”.

          • andythesaint

            That’s definitely possible.

          • the sky is falling

Plot twist: Hannah is subbed out for the actual live goat on the island after Ken takes it captive.

          • Black Dynamite

As a big Hannah fan, I’m not liking this plot twist but I’ll be more forgiving if the goat gets to wear Hannah’s glasses.

          • the sky is falling

I just don’t see it yet. I like Hannah in theory, but up to this point, she is just Aubrey Bracco 2.0. But Aubrey had a pretty rough time the first few weeks, I hope Hannah can turn it around in time to lose to David in the implausible Hannah, David, Ken finale. (They will have to vote out Micheala at 4 because she is too big a threat.)

          • HBO CEO of Tits

Aubry was competent in challenges. They make Hannah sit as many as possible.

          • the sky is falling

And that’s no guarantee they won’t have to call in medical.

    • Diego Armando

Michaela. Jay might get worried about her knowing he has an idol and decide to blindside her under the guise of her being a threat. This won’t happen, but other than Chris this is the only think I can think of.

      • I went with Michaela under the thinking that Hannah could be pulled in by Bret and Sunday since Hannah is clearly on the bottom of the Millenials.

        But it won’t happen.

      • andythesaint

That’s a good call. As a far-out hypothetical, but still.

        • Diego Armando

I could also see the reverse happening with Michaela pulling in Hannah and the GenXers to take out Jay. It won’t happen, but it could.
