Survivor Island of the Idols Week 7 Predictions

Something magical is happening, but I can’t talk about it. You don’t talk to a pitcher in the middle of a no no.

For the majority former-Vokai members on Lairo, Noura is the most dangerous player remaining in the game. Both Dean and Karishma have given them reasons to believe that rejoining original Lairo is not in the cards. Meanwhile, Noura has given indications that she’d like nothing more than to find new people to play with. And over on nu-Vokai, there are a lot of them. Worse, there’s no Jason to keep her in the fold. Best to get rid Noura now and not worry about it. Note: I think avoiding tribal last week all but punched Karishma’s ticket to the final four (and probably final three because why send her to fire?)

For Vokai, I like the reasoning to go after Dan given on the podcast. He’s not well liked by the former Lairos. Both Tommy and Lauren have made more inroads with at least one of the former Lairos. However, I can see Dan being quicker and more eager to throw his former tribemates under the bus in this new alignment, making it seem like he might be someone worth keeping around. On the other hand, Lauren’s righteous display of anger and hurt at losing that vote (which may or may not continue back at camp), mixed with a recovery that might feel TOO easy will tip everyone off to how dangerous a player she is (Lauren could win the game, Dan not so much). So Lauren will be the pick.

The universe is entropy, and entropy is chaos. Thus, the universe is simply chaos, understood only by the meaning we project into it. The laws of physics and quantum entanglement are but mere coincidences, by which we have convinced ourselves that we can explain this world. There is no meaning. Only madness. And yet to make meaning out of madness is itself folly. I cannot accede to the seeming irrational whims of the universe. Because if I put this through a randomizer, my actual picks will go home. Dan. Karishma.

Emma

I can totally see the former Lairo members of nuVokai turning on each other after their success, but instead I’m going to hope for the best and predict they’ll vote out Dan, the only original Vokai member we’ve seen without connections to Lairo. Is this a good time to vote out Noura. Depends on who you ask! But also, not particularly! It would even up the original tribes, after all. But I’m predicting her anyway because I feel like it.

John

Look, at this point, I’m really more invested in getting the predictions wrong. We’ve got an incredible streak going here, and I just want to be part of history. So I’ll say that this week we’re losing either Jamal or Aaron, mostly because they feel relatively safe. I’ve probably just doomed one of them.

Mark

It’s been a while since the 7th episode hasn’t been a merge, but I guess we’re still early in this. So here goes…

Lairo: I feel like only one of Noura and Karishma can last as “kooky FTC goat” so let’s say it’s Noura.

Vokai: How does it feel to be taken down a peg, purple? I think the old Lairos have the power here, and if Missy still wants a women’s alliance, she could do worse than to axe Dan. But that’s OK, because he can get his hands all over a burger at Ponderosa and massage the hell out of one.

Matt

So everyone is noticing Jeff’s stern/sad face in the preview, so my prediction is not that someone says racist or sexist, but instead that someone reveals they threw the challenge. If it is Lairo that loses the challenge I’m predicting Noura is going home. The thing about Noura is that Jamal rightly noted her unpredictability, and Dean and Karishma want to work with the majority. Also Noura is the sort that if you don’t get her out now, you might not be able to rally people around taking her out until late in the game, and in the meantime she can ruin your plans. So Noura it is. On Vokai I’m predicting Dan. Yeah Tommy might make more sense since he’s the golden boy of the other tribe and Lauren seems to be the better strategist, but there are people in the majority on Vokai that will want to work with tommy and Lauren down the line, whereas Dan doesn’t have that pull.
